Forgiving Deep Emotional Hurt
Even reading the words bring all the feelings back. That moment where something completely shocks you to the core and you have so many feelings pressing in on you that you feel you cannot breathe. Are you ready to the perfect part? Our big God who can do anything and be anywhere choose to sit right beside us feeling all the pain, sadness, betrayal, and grief. He loves you so much to say, "Let me take that from you. I know how much you are hurting and I want to make you whole and happy again." The way we give permission to God is through forgiveness. We let God in to take care of us and smooth over the cracks in our heart from our hurts. Some of us choose not to let God in because we want to hold on to those hurts. After all, they are just too big and too deep to forgive so easily. We relive the pain over and over letting it widen those cracks left behind.Every time one of those cracks form, you allow the evil one a little bit more space to work in you. He only has to remind you of the hurt and you are spiraling back into your pain with anger and bitterness. Have no doubt that he is here only to steal, kill, and destroy. Here to steal our faith, to kill our hope, and to destroy the relationship with have with the One who has a hope and a future for you.The choice is always there for you each time you feel reminded and pulled back to those hurts. Choose to relive the experience let it hurt more, or choose health, wholeness, and happiness. It's an easy choice!
Ephesians 4: 30-32
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
